The Pomona Students Union and Gente Organizada teamed up to create this timely piece on immigration. Using a unique narrative and current event news, our young filmmakers created this short film.
Youth leaders from the Pomona Students Union have produced a short film that will highlight the experience of undocumented people in this country. The film features a role reversal, where a Caucasian woman is the undocumented person. Highlighting the day-to-day experiences and real life struggles that many individuals in our communities face. The film touches upon the lack of a real path to citizenship, economic and community impact of undocumented people, and the fear that many of our most vulnerable neighbors are facing in this current political climate. The young leaders hope the film helps educate and inspire individuals to get involved in defending the rights of undocumented people and hope the film helps spark policy change in Pomona to create sanctuary for all residents. The Pomona Students Union is a youth led social action group and a program of Gente Organizada, a Pomona based non-profit organization.
